HP ePrint 2011

HP ePrint - Introduction of worldwide accessible demo room!

In the last issue we reported already to you of our small ePrint station.

We received more and more print jobs and news from around the World and the station was in continuous operation. A complete success!

Through this lively usage; we decided to increase the HP ePrint demo station and its worldwide marketing. The idea was immediately born - to build a global ePrint demo room with now 18 printers each with a separate accessible camera. Together with the project leader, we developed the design and the installation plans as well as the implementation schedules.

Then we went to the hardware: furniture had to be built, the space was converted, products and cameras were arranged, configured and installed. Amammoth project of which we are very proud of. The project, with this unique, high technical area received high marks in the introduction. It is used daily by our clients on trainings, events and customer demonstrations. It is an integral part of the ePrint demonstration on the "Channel Road Show 2011"; HP and its customers are simply blown away.

As of today we have 5 different languages and in the future the project will be extended to Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Portugal, Hungary, Romania and possibly two more countries so that these have also access to the demo room.

And here is our assessmanet by our HP project manager. What more could you want, we are more than proud of our crew, who implemented the project and worked it out!

Dear comXpert-team,

Below please find the official internal announcement message from Jennifer regarding our ePrint Demo Center. What an exciting project. We've come a long way from our first few webcams that you guys had bought and installed on your own expense to now having a seperate room equipped with 18 printers and a separate webcam per printer.

Anton, thanks for all your tireless efforts in making this all work. I remember when you had the brilliant idea to simply slant the printers so that the paper could fall out of the tray in order for the camera to capture what was printed. That idea alone made a very big difference; otherwise we could have just shown our inkjets. Of course all your overall project management efforts were extremely valuable, too. Great job!!

Bernd, you also helped a lot not only when coming up with the first shelf-designs and the many extra hours for additional views etc.. But also when we had the initial visit from Alrec and we were lost with all the lighting issues, you gave us all the confidence we needed that day.

Dragan, I was very relieved to see that your streaming server not only worked in theory, very well done.

Overall an excellent teamwork ( not a surprise though ;-) ), I really enjoyed this project. Now let's hope we see a lot of traffic from customers in EMEA and beyond.

P.S.: Special thanks of course also got to Matt who already liked the webcam idea when we first showed it during our LES EMEA Boot Camp in September. He then assigned Jennifer back in February to make it all look professional. Very well done, Jennifer, it's by far better than what I had in mind when we started. And it was fun to work with you. Thanks also to Ivette who was the one who approved the initial funding which was of course very important as well.

Wish you all a nice weekend.

Mit freundlichem Gruss / Best regards,
